PostHeaderIcon Pacquiao: I don't need to fight Floyd

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is already satisfied with what he has achieved inside the boxing ring, even if he does not fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao, who is training for his upcoming bout against Juan Manuel Marquez, was informed that Mayweather does not feel the need to fight Pacquiao.

“Ako rin, I don’t need him either,” said Pacquiao.

Mayweather defeated Victor Ortiz last September 17 (September 18 in Manila) to remain undefeated and capture the WBC welterweight belt.

“Sa naipakita natin at na-accomplish natin sa boxing, satisfied naman ako sa career ko,” Pacquiao said. “Kahit hindi kami maglaban, wala akong problema.”

Pacquiao also commented on Mayweather’s victory.

“Okay naman, legal naman, hindi naman foul yung ginawa ni Mayweather,” said the fighting congressman. “Kaya lang, yung tinatawag nating sportsmanship, wala s’ya nun.”

“Siguro si Ortiz, he’s trying to be nice. Kaya lang si Mayweather, hindi s’ya kinakaibigan kaya ganoon ang nangyari,” Pacquiao added. “May pagkukulang din si Ortiz doon.”
