PostHeaderIcon Mayweather will regret not fighting Pacquiao - Roach

MANILA, Philippines – Not fighting Manny Pacquiao will be a decision that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will regret, says Pacquiao’s coach, Freddie Roach.

Roach believes that even if Mayweather retires undefeated, his record will be in question because he did not fight the Filipino boxing icon.

“They will say, why didn’t you fight Pacquiao?” Roach said. “He’s undefeated, but he never fought Manny Pacquiao.”

In the press conference after his 4th round knockout victory over Victor Ortiz, Mayweather had insisted that he did not need to fight Pacquiao.

Roach, however, disagrees.

“He never fought the best fighter of his era, and that will haunt him for the rest of his life,” Roach said.

Pacquiao will fight Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12.
