PostHeaderIcon UFC: We won't compete with Pacquiao

MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) assured fight fans that it will not directly compete against the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez III pay-per-view broadcast.

The assurance was made after the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion announced a landmark television deal with FOX network. Its first event with FOX will fall on November 12, fight date of Pacquiao-Marquez III.

UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta said in Las Vegas Sun.com that their fight card will be done before the start of Pacquiao's bout.

“We’ll be out of there before Pacquiao even walks to the ring,” said Fertitta.

“This is going to be a perfect night for any fight fan. Get together with your friends, watch two big fights in the UFC and then change the channel to ride into the Pacquiao pay-per-view,” he added.

Based on its deal with UFC, FOX will televise 4 UFC events per year with 32 more events to be aired by the network’s other channels.
