PostHeaderIcon Pinoys face Croatians in Homeless Cup KO stage

MANILA, Philippines – Team Philippines opens its campaign in the Homeless World Cup knockout stage in Paris, France with a game against Croatia on Wednesday.

The match will be played at 1:20 p.m. Paris time (7:20 p.m. Manila time) according to the Azkaleros’ Facebook page.

Philippines is clustered with Croatia, Portugal, Scotland, Poland and Brazil in Group C.

The Filipino booters advanced into the knockout stage (secondary stage) by winning 3 games.

Their most recent win was against Switzerland, 8-2. They earlier beat Ghana and the United States.

The team's co-captain, Jeffrey Guelas, was awarded the Sportsmanship award.

The Philippines suffered losses to Slovenia and the Netherlands.
